Hi! My name is Erin and I also stayed in Rajiv’s house with Noelle and other volunteers. I left in November. I just recently read “Half the Sky” which is a great non-fiction bestseller on gender discrimination. If you haven’t already, I would recommend it to you. I just wish I had read it before I arrived in India.
I enjoyed reading your blog, and left mine for you if you so wish to read it as well.
Hi Caroline! I had a fantastic time in Delhi with Volunteering India.. you’ll be very well taken care of & safe. I worked with a womens program, but the other volunteers who worked with the kids all had a fun, crazy time. As long as you’re a flexible kind of person & can go with the flow, you’ll have a blast. It’s definitely not the US, the kids often have hard lives that we can’t even imagine… but they absolutely adore the attention & games & learning. I say “go for it!”… India, and volunteering in India, is unlike any other experience.. you won’t regret it!
Hi Erin – I LOVE that book “Half the Sky”! My boyfriend got it for me for Christmas before I left… so enlightening & it gave me some context and perspective on the work I did there. I’ve read through your blog as well – fantastic. I’m already wishing I could go back next year! Thanks so much for writing to me, hope you’re having a good day

Hi Katie,
I’ve read you joined Volunteering India. I’m thinking about going in May with them to Deli, maybe working with children. How was you experience?
Thanks a lot
Carolina
